Research Facilities
In addition to the field facilities, I have a full endocrine laboratory at the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth. This lab is specifically designed to analyse blood hormones (e.g. glucocorticoids, testosterone, thyroid hormones, etc.) and fecal hormone metabolites. In addition to standard lab equipment there is a gamma counter, lyophilizer, refrigerated centrifuge, microplate washer and reader. There is also surgical equipment for work with small mammals and modified lab-based behavioral testing arenas for work in the field (e.g., Morris water mazes, elevated plus mazes, etc.). The student office (far right) and the lab (far left) also have great windows and a view!
